Customs

So almost a month ago I ordered some stuff off of ebay from this one seller. He shipped it and everything, it even had tracking. Anyways, I still don't have the package and the tracking that china post gave him wasn't updating. After some back and forth, we found out that we could go to the canadapost website and put the china post tracking number and it'll show up. Anyways we did that and it shows that the package has been recieved at Customs and is being reviewed. It says that they received it August 18th.

It's been almost 3 weeks and they still haven't reviewed it. I've never experienced this before, usually when I order stuff it doesn't take this long to clear customs. Is there a way to check up on it? If I call them, will they be able to help me get the package quicker? Or can I just go there and ask for it?

What is it? If its something suspicious Customs will take longer to review it...

My friend ordered a knock-off Les Paul from china and they took over a month to 'review' - they did eventually release it though...not sure why haha

I don't think calling them will get you anywhere, and even more so going down there.

Call them probably won't get it to go any faster as the people that are handling the calls will not have anything to do with the review itself.

Going down there will probably end with the same result.

I've had a package of computer parts from Hong Kong sit in Customs for close to a month, once. You just need to be patient, unfortunately.

it might've been that the seller didn't declare the item properly, so you might have to fill out some forms etc.

this happened to me, a seller from US shipped me a hoodie but didnt declare it properly and I had to fill out a couple forms and had to pay $10 - then wait for weeks before I actually recieved it. They asked me about material, price etc.

You just have to wait, not much you can do. May I ask what the item was?

Its a camera flash, diffuser, and 2 brackets. Its only worth about $50 :(
