Rusty gas tank

Hopefully, someone can lead me in the right direction. Currently trying to revive my dad's old 85 Chevy Suburban. It's been sitting for quite some time as we didn't really want to sell it after he passed away, but at the same time had no use for it. Anyways, I feel like getting it back on the road again but it looks like there is rust and crud in the gas tank which doesn't surprise me after sitting for over 7 years.

What would be the best way to clean it out after pulling the tank out?? I hear rad shops can clean them out and reline the inside. I also hear throwing clean pebbles in it and shaking it can knock the rust off, then washing it out with soapy water then straight water but that won't really prevent further rusting....

If it's more headaches than it's worth, I might just buy a new tank.

A lot of rad shops clean and re-seal gas tanks. I'd look into the price difference of a new or refurbished one try phoning lodco. It's a very common vehicle. Also reckers have tons and most aren't in bad shape.
