World's Slimmest Car

The Tango is an ultra-narrow electric sports car created by Rick Woodbury.
It was initially designed and built by Commuter Cars, an American company
based in Spokane, Washington. This vehicle is a two seater and is as narrow
as just about anything on the road.

The two seat capacity, odd looks and high price tag - $150,000, keeps the buyers
way from the car. Woodbury however confirms that production will restart and orders
for this funky vehicle can be placed.

0-60mph in 4 sec

$150,000 USD!?!?!

I assume there would be a profound effect on handling too due to its tall and skinny design. Lets have Clarkson test it.

twitchyzero 09-07-2010 09:38 PM

imagine a semi-trailer swooping by at 120km/h from the oncoming traffic while sitting in one of these.

first of all, why would you take this on the hwy.. its a city commuter coz it needs to be charged after a period of use...
second, semi's wont be going that fast in city..

twitchyzero 09-07-2010 09:56 PM

okay fine..on boundary road when semi's drive at 80kph..that's probably still pretty scary.

FeistyBearH22a 09-07-2010 10:02 PM

wow that thing is a coffin on 4 wheels.

Clearly you've never driven on Clark or Knight St.

Those guys haul ass on Clark the second they leave the Port.

third of all, I don't think any cars can stand that kind of impact.

twitchyzero 09-08-2010 08:21 AM

i never mentioned an impact...i was just saying how this 'car' would shake terribly when a large truck drives by in the opposite direction.

...Nevermind.

Berzerker 09-08-2010 08:42 AM

He's talking about wind turbulence not impact guys.

Berz out.

insomniac 10-18-2010 05:01 PM

bump. spotted it today and just read about it. this thing is apparently really safe..
http://www.commutercars.com/safety.html
but coming from the site its probably slightly exaggerated.
pretty impressive car imo but i wouldnt buy it LOL :p

ilvtofu 10-18-2010 05:10 PM

^ lol 150k for something that looks like it uses recycled isuzu taillights

But definitely a cool toy if you have money to blow, I can already imagine all the cars who will pull to your right at the stop light and try to pass you not knowing that your car does 0-60 in 4 secs
