The Canadian IMP are considered one of the best-tasting meals available.

I didn't mind it while I was cadets... except for ham steak with mustard. Evil thing. The giant cherry pie was a good laxative.

ari.gold 09-08-2010 04:45 PM

mmm IMPs use to eat those all the time in Cadets

^lol we use to always throw around the giant cherry thingys, I liked the Scalloped potatoes and ham. I'm drawing a blank on some of the other meals, but there were some good ones. And the lunch IMP's had chocolate bars they were awesome.

the rations arent THAT BAD, its just having them for 7 months is brutal..heres how my experience went. spent 7 months in the wild west.. we had food sent out to our platoon house with fuel. we only ate rations when we were out patrolling over night or if the convoy got hit before delivering

ENJOY!

Wow that last one looks painful. Hope the guy is ok.

Jackygor 09-08-2010 06:35 PM

what happened during the ambush? o_o

bcrdukes 09-08-2010 06:47 PM

Canadian IMPs are a commodity in the field. US soldiers will trade their expensive gear for it.

HondaGuy 09-08-2010 06:57 PM

Damn, feel so sorry for the soldiers that have so minimal food...

The link provided, it looks as though Australia has more solid food, like more meat substance.
Return home safely!!

do you have any cool stories from the field? consider making a thread?

IMPs are not that bad.... pretty good stuff actually - when you have nothing else to eat

Canadian soldiers are hardly starving. Walk around any base, Air Force especially, and you'll see your share of lards in uniform.
