free parking at vgh?

as the title states, i'm doing my clinical at vgh this semester and i have to get up at 5 and be there by 6am. i would like to park there for free even if i have to walk a few blocks. it beats paying the morning fee of $7.50. if you know any parking spots, let me know. thanks in advance!

There is along the residential streets, but it's only 2 hours max.

It is $8.50 at parkade/day for people with ID pass.

17th/18th ave + heather/willow area should have some parking.

6am is tough. The goal here is to find a perfect time in which residents of the neighborhood leaves for work - not too early. But not too late in the morning too when other there will be more and more vgh staff later.

Just pay CLOSE attention to signs and which way arrows point to. They are known to have changed at least once in the last year and a bunch of people got ticketed on the day of the change.

Residential areas off Laurel street have 2 hour limits, and they do check.
There's a Safeway at City Square, I don't recall if there is a time limit or if its paid at all, but I used to park near the Shopper's Drug Mart on Oak.

Check out the alleys between 12th and 14th along oak st. Just drive up and down them and you should find a spot there sooner or later. That's what i do when i used to work by VGH. I got a spot 95 percent of the time. Good luck! One thing that sucks about alley parking is that your car might be scrapped some people who get a bit too close, so that's some caution.

There are some spots whenever I go across from the school? Daycare? but they are 2 hours. I'm just wondering if you can just park as a red robin's customer haha and have it free but obvs you can't park all day either and definitely not at 6 but maybe for pay parking that might be cheaper
