Softening Cusco Zero 2R Coils Hi, I just got a car recently (kouki S14) and it came with the coilovers stated in the title. Although I know they are non street legal coilovers and WILL result in very bumpy rides, I do at least want to soften them up to the softest setting they can go to. My friend did the front for me, but we have no idea how to do the rears .. my question is if anyone knew a small shop that I could bring it to to get the settings changed for the rears. Thanks! |

Yeah.. thats the problem, I was told by many people that the rears indeed could be adjusted, but I can't find the knobs.. (searched in the trunk) as thats where I was told they should be.. Any clue as to where else the knobs could be? |
they're at the end of your friggin coilovers bro, just like the fronts are, common sense. basically you would need to cut out a hole on your rear wheel wells to access the knob, and even if you do that you may need extenders to adjust it |
Maybe the rears aren't Zero 2R's |

I don't think my friend (the previous owner) ever had those pieces so I doubt you would either. What you can do is try using an open ended wrench on it. If you're truly concerned about daily driveablity due to the stiffness of the coilovers, you might be better off selling them and getting some springs/shocks instead. |
The spring rates are only 7k/5k. It shouldn't be illegal to street these. Mine are 8k/6k and they are great on the street at the softest setting. Make sure you are turning the knob the correct way and not stiffening them instead of softening |
Thanks jing for the replies, but the problem is.. I can't even find the knobs to use the open ended wrench on it.. (was my plan in the first place) I have tried to locate them through by looking at the top of the coils, but they lead to a space in the trunk.. then I searched through the trunk taking all the cloth out, but I don't see a way to access the knobs |

I have the same car as you. Go to the rear seats, and look under the rear speakers panel, right under the rear window. If you have a base model, it's just a regular panel without speakers. That is where they are located and that is where you can adjust them. To get at them easier, lower the rear seats down. |

make sure you count the clicks for the settings so you can work out a baseline figure. either that or go all the way to the softest setting and then work back to what you want. then record the setting so you have an idea of where you want it for the road the next time you take it to the track. |
I successfully put all 4 onto the lowest setting now (1) and it feels a bit better, not that great but bearable :) Thanks for all the help! |
