parents of RS.

How many of y'all are actually taking/letting your kids go trick or treating this year?

Debating whether its worthwhile to leave candies at the door this year

I give out nothing but quality, individually wrapped, chocolate bars. No Rockets, Tootsie Rolls, Halloween Kisses, etc. nothing that is twist wrapped. Coffee Crisp, Kit Kat, Aero, Smarties, Wagon Wheels, mini bags of Doritos, etc.

Smart parents separate the treats they get from known families. Some parents only allow their children to go to well known houses for trick or treating.

Gone are the days you can go anywhere. Too many fucked up people out there.

I wAnder what UV rays will do to the chocolates. I do have a UV sanitizer.

Hmmmmm.........

The chocolates I have come in a box. Probably been in the box for at least 3 weeks (from factory). I'll just pour them into a sanitized bowl and use tongs to drop the goodies into their bag/bucket. Maybe do what Costco does now when giving samples out and put the items in those flat bags.

Gloves...........

This is a great idea, although I'm not sure parents in my area are allowing their kids to go trick or treating this year given that there has been a huge spike in COVID in my neck of the woods.

Switching tracks for a moment, but what's with these horror-ible movies? Just watching nightmare on Elem Street........ this chick gets into the bathtub and lies back with her legs apart. She falls asleep or at least tries to, and this hand comes out of the water between her legs. It's Freddy with his Wolverine wanna be, knives. Grab 'em by the pussy takes on a whole new meaning. Every horror film has naked chicks prancing across the lawn being chased by some creep. I think the Exorcist was the only movie without some kind of sexual theme running in the............ wait.......... there was. Wasn't the devil masterbating with a cross somewhere in that movie? Okay stabbing at her vagina. Anyway, I'm not going to watch anymore horror movies...................... said no one, ever.

Halloween falls on a Saturday and it's a full moon............. fuck, this pandemic just keeps on giving. And if that wasn't enough, it looks like rain for the 31st.

I'm still going to give out treats. I bought some flat paper food bags today at Wholesale Club. Will fill the bags with goodies and construct a chute of some kind to slide the bags down. Kids will hold bag open under the end of chute to catch the bags. I was thinking of using one of those rotating clothes hangers load the bags onto hangers via clothes pins, but too much work, plus still contact. Maybe long pizza peel? I think the chute idea is best. I use tongs at the other end. Bags will be filled ahead of time using those nitrile gloves from Costco, Gulolol.

Nations head doctor suggesting hockey sticks, lol. How Canadian...........

For the kids who want tricks, make a second "poop" chute.

I just gone through the first 4 Friday the 13th movies. I still can't believe Jason was killed by freakin Cory Feldman

Wow, retailers know when things are going south. Just left Superstore. Chocolates discounted already. Not quite half price, but close. Nestle 120 count for $12.99.

I'm wondering if it's safe to trick or treat in the mall this year?
Are they handing out candy at the stores? I figure it will be safer than going house to house, warmer too. Or maybe there will be too many people so it's less safe... will it busy? Is it even open? (I haven't been to the mall since like January)
It's my first Halloween that I don't have to work and would like to make it fun for my 4-year old daughter. I'll implement masks into our costume... or just skip it altogether as not worth the risk...

I was at the Metrotown for Halloween one year by accident. The trick or treating was over in about 2 minutes. Each store was just swarmed by kids at 5pm when the stores agreed to hand out candy at. That was a few years ago, and I don't know how other stores have done it since. Didn't think it looked fun then, makes my skin crawl now in covid times. Plus it looked like really cheap candy at most places.

I'd bet this year there won't be as many stores handing out candy over cost/crowding etc

We're still planning on going normal tricker treating with our kids (5&3) but we're playing it by ear. We have a couple of good neighbors who will have candy for them, so if we cut it short they still get a Halloween experience.

I think I'd just let the kids dress up, and take them out for a walk, or maybe some other activities (pumpkin carving, candy hunting? Etc), then give them mystery packs of chocolates/candies that you put together yourself

So they still kind of get the experience, and you're not risking anything from strangers
