Try and dig up all your receipts, ICBC should cover it if you have proof.

i heard they cover up to $5000 ??

They only cover things that have been "bolted" down. Bolted in quotes because it has to be secured using their approved method.

where can i view their rules and regulations in-regards to what needs to be done to be covered ?

if its bolted down in ur car, its covered under car insurance.

if its not bolted down, eg clothes, cds, anything loose, its covered under home insurance (so if u live in a condo, its whatever house insurance u pay)

radar detectors are in the gray area, neither insurance will cover them.

why? radar detectors would be covered under house/contents insurance - they're fully legal here, there's no grey area - if its bolted in, then its car

no the idea is that they are suction cupped (is that a phrase?) to the car and not "bolted down"

hope it's not the fit that's got jacked up man sorry to hear.

because thats what icbc told me, and i clarified it with my house insurance when my car got broken into and everything including my school books were stolen.

that's BS - the bolted down thing is totally true, everything else is A OK under house insurance, including radar detectors

and if you EVER get someone saying its not covered, laugh in their face and ask why tehy discriminate against radar detectors - remember, they're 100% legal to own and operate here
