No fucking way. Really?

Prove it.

Answer these questions.

Who was the biggest DJ in town in the early to mid 70's? (hint: CKLG)

What record company was A&B Sound's biggest competitor in the early 70's?

What was the name of the depaartment store on Hastings Street directly across the street from Woodwards?

Name two famous Chinese restaurants that no longer exist in Chinatown.

It's on the tip of my tongue, FFFUUUUU!!!!!1!!

Name two famous Chinese restaurants that no longer exist in Chinatown.

Green door is the only one I can remember. Filthy little joint in the back alley, with some of the finest asian cuisine you've ever had.

How did I do?

hahaha, we loved that place. Back in the early 80's we would go there mainly because you could make a mess, and no one would bitch. Apparently I was a messy eater back in the day.

+1 !!!!!

Orange door rings a bell too. Then there was Pennie's on E. Hastings, and when we started making a little more money, Pink Pearl. Now it's all about The Pelican. Nothing beats the old days though. Vancouver was sure a different place back then.

gars 01-10-2011 12:26 PM

haha, Pennie's..... the Denny's of Chinese Cuisine.

There was Diamond something in Chinatown before - was pretty decent. But my favorite growing up was Hong Kong Garden - outside downtown on Main and Terminal - burnt down years ago.

dlo 01-10-2011 03:25 PM

^ YES PENNIE, i live right beside it and go there at least once a month! lovebird rice or sizzling black pepper steak with onions and green pepper!

Pennies used to be ok before the owner sold the place a long time ago. But even then the food was hit or miss sometimes, but we still would go, haha.

RiceIntegraRS 01-11-2011 06:09 PM

26, i sometimes kinda wish that the RS members age was beside there join date. Because sometimes theres some heated arguements ect, out there and the reason it started cause of some dumb 14 year old comment to begin with.
