Anyone know if I'll be able to continue my program if I retake all the courses in the summer (which I'm currently doing)? I'm in FMGT going into 2nd year. The letter I got didn't say anything about re-applying for advanced placement. although a friend of mine who's retaking the exact same courses as me received a letter telling her to retake the courses and apply for advanced placement. My just straight out said you can't continue and suggests to try a different program. My GPA is still above 55% so I'm kind of worried :l

There shouldn't be a need for advanced placement, just contact Debbie Flynn or Jennifer Kerr and they'll save your spot in the FMGT program until you submit your grades. Only issue would be that they may have temporarily moved you to a different set. But again, just contact one of the above mentioned people and they should have it fixed for ya.

Lol Jennifer says I got removed from the program and recommends me to do part-time if I still want to continue Accounting. Guess I'll just apply for AP :l

I'll be completely honest with you, if you're finishing first year with a 55% gpa, I don't think you're gonna last much longer. SEcond year is THAT much tougher and a lot of people get weeded out during level 3. doing it pt isn't that bad, just sucks that you end up paying more and takes a bit longer than what you'd want, but you do get better marks.

Good luck man, I graduated from it just last January2011 and it is a tough ass program.

Let me know if you need help/textbooks/extra materials. I have it all. I'm always willing to help a fellow RSer.

Second semester is the TOUGHEST! and that's if you get passed the first, lol. So buck up, and be ready for a life with no friends. lol.

oh and no winter or spring breaks for you! lol.

Applied for a student loan in early June and still haven't received it yet. When do I get it? My original deadline is in 2 days but I applied for a fee deferral and it's been pushed back 3 months. First year student, I have no clue about anything so I may be asking loads of questions along the way

call them and find out. usually you'll get a response back within 2 weeks.

Anyone get their schedule yet?

for mb_

You get ur loans transferred starting the first day of classes, they do not give it before classes start. so your bank my receive it during the first or second week of classes.

As well you have to make sure to send in the print/sign/declare sheet by snail mail!!!! i forgot to do this, it is online and you can print it out. AND then they are going to send you a mail with your banking info, you have to get it filled out by the bank then take it to a Canada Post office.

If your deferral was granted that means your loan is approved and either they are waiting for more paperwork from you... or if you have done everything just wait until the first week of classes and check your bank acct daily for the funds transfer. and be wise with you loan, lol, don't spend it on your car... because eventually and unfortunately you do have to pay it back.
