I don't know Chinese, but a lot of the subbed HK movies I've watched were better than Western movies.

Even if I don't really understand, this is a good find.

Most of those movies are not filmed with an HD camera so no.
I doubt anybody is going to up-convert them and even if they do the quality will still be poor.

unless the movies are subtitled 90% of vancouver population won't be able to understand dialogue
the only chinese movies westerners watch are ones with jackie chan like rumble in da bronx

it doesnt need to be filmed with an hd camera... most movies still aren't filmed with such a camera they're filmed with Film :P

they can turn them into HD

the only problem with HK film stock is that they were stored HORRIBLY so old movies say on Blu-Ray tend to look like shit unless they invested a lot of $$$
+ the demand isnt really there

Fairchild needs to catch up to the times and come out with HD already. The shows they show are recorded in HD back in HK so there's no excuse not to have it here.

My parents mainly watch Fairchild so it's kinad putting the HDTV to waste.
