A little off topic but along the same lines..
Someone once told me icbc won't cover damages due to 'revenge' because you probably 'deserve' it. Any truth to this?

Or did the OP end up going to the RS meet where the person who keyed it could have seen it and mistook it for another member's car, which might have been similar to another Civic that the keyer wanted to target.

the better questions to ask OP would be:
What time of the day did you notice it?
Where was the car parked last ? (city, location)
What was the weather like?
* imo - this is huge blow to RS. I know RS is not responsible for what goes on the forums but think about it; how many members would feel safe posting up pics of their car now? So much for the member journals. What about meets, FS of used auto - the list goes on. I hope the Exec. team has a good PR person .

My home and work location are mentioned there cause members have spotted my car. If you have a vehicle that stands out there's not much you can do, people will find out where it is usually parked.
I don't think this affects members posting up pics of their rides. Postings pics and details makes you vulnerable to theft, yet we all still post pics of our rides.
I think what this does it shows you cannot have an opinion on RS outside of the opinion shared by people who would commit such acts of vandalism. Unfortunately the person who did this is not smart, so it now becomes useless to argue with anyone that posts a stupid comment, cause they could in turn do something stupid like this in retaliation.

all you have to do is call in and make a claim and tell them that you will bring it to a valet shop. bring your claim number to a valet shop and they will do the assessment for you you wont ever deal with icbc... the shop does all the work.. you pay i think 3 or 500 for the deduc but they will cover the rest
