An article about it for those that want to read instead: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/lif...cle6730047.ece My thoughts: It's true that while this is a very unfortunate condition to have, there are probably many others that are much worse to deal with. Would you rather be blind or not be able to eat food? Would you rather have no arms or not be able to eat food? Tough choices. That's interesting that he can drink one certain brand of lemonade... wonder what's so special about it. Given that many people suddenly develop intolerancies to certain foods later on in life, it could very well be that his intolerancies suddenly disappear and he can start eating normally... who knows... |

I know a couple people who have a disease called PKU, which means they can't eat anything with the amino acid phenylalanine in it (Which is almost all proteins). They have been on a special diet their whole lives (It's very expensive to boot). I don't think I've ever seen them wish they could eat a steak or a Big Mac, because: 1) They've never had meat in their lives to begin with and 2) They know if they do eat steak they could die. |
Holy crap, I thought being allergic to water was bad enough.. this tops it. |
Not as bad cuz he probably never enjoyed food to miss it, but then having a tube going into your stomach for the rest of your life must lick Quote:
