2010 Golf 24 hour clock

So my friend has a 2010 Golf and we've been trying to figure out how to change the clock from the 24 hour system to the 12 hour one. She doesn't have the buttons on her steering wheel, I've looked at some videos on youtube where they say hold down the bottom button on the washer lever but that does nothing. Any suggestions?

isn't there a set of buttons in the instrument cluster? Not sure if that helps much, but usually using buttons that adjust time, also set the 12/24h setting.

the owners manual?

There are only 2 buttons in the instrument cluster and those are only to set the time, and I've read the owners manual front to back with no success. I need to get into that damn settings menu so I can get to Time, but everything I try won't work!

maybe these will help?
maybe dont have the car actually started but just have it like his is??
good luck

^ Already watched that a million times and tried it, I think maybe because the model he's using has a nav allows the menu to work, but she doesn't have nav or that type of display for the radio

go back to your dealership and ask the sales. (or the person you dealt with)?

german engineering at it's finest

do you have to take a course to learn how to use the cupholder too? 19 page manual on turning up the stereo volume?

It should be in the owner's manual? Or how about your friend learns how to tell time in the 24HR format?

24h is the superior system, learn to make it work!

true dat. in Europe, everyone tells the time using the 24hr clock.

but I'm lazy too, so I would do the same if I were in a similar predicament :p

Some of the Volkswagen vehicles won't have an option to change between 24/12 time unless you hook up the dealer scan tool to change the coding.

Most of the ones you can change without a scanner are the ones with the multifunction displays (shows service intervals, radio station, warning msgs, blah blah blah) and the ones with navigation.

The other thing you can try is pull the left button on the cluster, and the clock should flash. Keep pressing until the end of the time setting it might show up there.
