Strobist Meet Interest?

Just wondering if anyone wants to do a photowalk/studio session for a strobist meetup. I haven't done a lot of off camera lighting but I'd like to get more into it. I know there's more photographers on here that have more experience with lighting and I'm trying to gauge interest in a revscene strobist meet. We could maybe rent a studio if people are up for that.

Yes please! I'd be really interested in doing this, just started doing the strobist stuff and would really love to learn some tips! Any possible dates on when this will happen?

I'm in for studio session.
I don't have flashguns though.
Just monolights =\

I'd come out if I am free, I have plenty off lights and not enough practice =(

Fuck that - too heavy! Hensel Porty Lithium 12 is where it's at! :)

It'd probably be in around mid-October and I would keep the group small, maybe 10 people at the most. If people wanted to do outdoor shooting/car shoots I'd be totally up for that and I'd be up for a studio shoot too but I'll have to look into renting a studio for that and figure out what kind of rate we could get.

It's really amazing, actually - beautiful, consistent light. I was able to light the front of the shack with one side going full blast and the other head with a beauty dish lit the model. Notice that the shack is backlit by the Sun, and this is from one pack!

Be very careful...you've probably already noticed they're made of cheap plastic. Nice light though.

77civic1200 09-24-2010 12:24 AM

^Ignore him, toss them around, its Polycarbonate Lexan

"cheap plastic" is just what the elitist snobs use to justify paying more for less :p

woah, that's the same material i used on my foglights mod. tough stuff.

i'd be interested in experimenting/learning more about light as well
