Memory Ram Voltage Rating?

Does the voltage rating affect anything? Is higher rating better or lower better? (i.e some are rated 1.5v, some are rated 1.6v, and some at 1.7-1.85v)

Also, is there any real difference in speed between 1333 vs 1600Mhz ram?

Which one of these would you pick?

(the muskin has the best price and lowest cas rating, but i am not sure about its higher voltage)

This is for a new PC w/ Phenom X4 965 and MSI 870A-G54 mobo
No OC.

more voltage = more heat, shorter life
but, more voltage = more speed

so figure out what speed/timings you want, then find the lowest voltage.

This is kinda a general guideline.

if you are using an i7, don't go above 1.65v or you can damage the cpu. the same may apply for the newer phenom's, i'm not sure.

i know older amd cpu's had issues where high ram voltage combined with stock cpu voltage would blow the memory controller.

if it was me, i would get the 1600 ripjaws, overvolt to 1.65v and if i'm lucky, run 1600 cas7
