STD/STI Testing Friend asked me some questions about STD/STI testing and be as I've only been with my GF, it's hard for me to answer his questions, so I have came to RS for help. 1. Where can you get tested? Can you just walk into any clinic and just get tested? I guess hes trying to see if their are any alternatives to avoid his family doctor, maybe it's embarrassing? No idea =S 2. "How" does the testing procedures work? Do they extract blood from you, take urine samples? Or do they just need an urine sample? What else do they have to do? 3. Any general info he should know about or he should be aware of for the test and how much does it cost? Thanks! |
Go to the center for disease control. Its free, and they take a blood + urine sample. Don't pee for at least 2 hrs pre-testing. They'll tell you this before you come in Posted via RS Mobile |
talked to a friend about this some time ago because he was forced to do the test. the one thing i clearly remember him saying was getting a long q-tip thing stuck down ur pee hole for a swab, he said that was the worst part, no jokes. |

Depending on what STI your trying to find out they do different tests. The Q-Tip swab down the urethera is for Ghonnerea(sp?) STI. Does it hurt? Yes it does, but its quick. Kind of hurts when you piss for the next day or so. Posted via RS Mobile |
