D series Auto tranny ID help Buddy's got a '98 D series SOHC Vtec motor (D16Y8?) in his Acura EL backed by an auto tranny that's on it's way out. What other cars use the same tranny? Only behind vtec motors or are they the same as all EK's (98-00)? Thanks |
You are correct, sir. d16y8 in an EL. All D series trannys bolt up to each other if I'm not mistaken. His should be an SI tranny and one from a d16z6 (92-95 Civic SI's) should be an exact match or one from a 96-00 Civic SI since it has the same motor. |
