Data Roaming w/ Drone Mobile?

Can anyone here confirm for me that there are no additional data roaming charges if a DR-1000 device crosses the border into the US? (it would really suck if one had to pay roaming fees every time their car crosses the border)

Also, anyone have any suggestions on where to wire 12V power from if the car has a compustar pro brain w/ backup battery input? I'm thinking the drone module should be wired to get power from the backup battery so that:
1) the drone willl still function if the car battery is disconnected.
2) there won't be a need to wire up a second backup battery just for the drone module.

Looks like that won't work. I put a small test light load onto the compustar battery charging circuit to find out how much power it can output. It didn't do much. The voltage collapsed very quickly. The drone unit draws up to 100ma. That might be enough power that the backup battery might get discharged
