Use them for other events?

Didn't we build the Richmond oval for the Olympics and didn't China build the Birds eye stadium just for the Olympics.

Slifer 09-28-2010 03:23 PM

Their soccer team probably won't even qualify for the finals..

I dunno what's happening with the Richmond oval but I was just in Beijing a few months ago on the Olympic sites and they're just rusting away. They allow people to check it out as a tourist attraction but they're not really doing anything with it.

The Richmond Oval doesnt even have the speed skating track in it anymore. The Oval is just a big rec/community center now. Theres exercise classes, a sweet gym, two olympic sized ice rinks and a gym surface.

I have no idea what the birds nest stadium is used for now...

Beautiful designs. Or at least the video looked good lol

Gt-R R34 09-28-2010 08:03 PM

great looking stadiums btu the problem is the heat.

120+ C temp. would be kind of nuts.

PiuYi 09-28-2010 08:17 PM

they've already done more planning than New Delhi

Mercy 09-29-2010 12:48 AM

Paralympics rugby was just going on at the Richmond oval

120+ Celsius hm? Looks like visitors will be drinking boiling water.

The Richmond Oval is fantastic, if I lived closer I'd get a membership. Maybe it is a bit big for a community centre, as there is a lot of wasted space above all the courts/rinks, yet damn it is awesome as a sporting venue. I can play virtually any sport at one location on fantastic surfaces.
