Neel help picking up a new laptop

So after years with my desktop I have decided to get a new laptop and I got a few questions.

I mostly use my desktop to watch videos online (netflix YAY, PPS, youtube.), surfing the web, and sometimes gaming (WoW, Starcraft2).

My Desktip is running
Intel C2Dou e7400 2.80Ghx
4GB of RAM (DD3 I think.....)
ATI Radeon HD 5600 Series (got it for aobut $140 a few months ago I thinkin is DDR3 512mb)
Got several HDs

I really have no issue with it and everything I do runs really smooth.

Many people told me to at least get an I5 CPU but it seems to be out of my budget (Looking to spend around 600 to 800). So I am wondering is i3 good enough for me? And is it a lot better to a laptop with an i3 Vs AMD's Turion II Dual Core?

Been looking around for a bit and seems most laptop that fits my price range is mostly AMD's Turion II Dual Core or Itenl Dual core chips(yuck).

Any brands I should look into? Not a big fan on Acer since I got their laptop before and is not really that great.

Laptop size I perfer to be 13inch to 15.6inch. Power is not a big issue and I am not going to move it around a lot.

These are the ones I found so far that fits what I want. Going to check out dell's website as well later.

Any suggestion will help!

Asus or Dell.. Best options for warranty.. Asus has a 1year accidental dmg included. While dell has this as an option... Both are great warranty and fast service.. There are some Dell service centers locally which means anything broken will get replaced by 9am next day when parts arrive. Where as Asus u have to ship to ONT. ETA 2-5 Days.

If you are looking into a Dell send me the print summary and Ill see if I can get a better price for you.. If its just a base retail system not customized I cannot get any better pricing. Latitude notebooks have the biggest discount margins.

I usually base notebook on warranty as parts are just parts everyone can get the same thing.. Its whether or not it will fail on you, and the downtime you will have.

in that price range the only difference between an "i3" and an "i5" is turbo boost, and i think some i3's don't have virtualization support. Intel revamped is product naming schemes to supposedly simplify things but it's made it more complicated than ever and its mostly just marking buzz.

go with whatever fits your budget and don't feel like you should spend more just to get an i5, its not worth it.

same cache, same speed, same power consumption, both have HT.

I bit more than your price range but I have one and it's great and will do everything you need it to do and has a long battery life.

Older model a bit slower but still a great laptop.

Dell.ca
Best deals, best customer service, best warranties, best computers other than customizing

If you wanna go big buy a Macbook. They look cool but are overpriced

This one is great. If I didn't just get my X201 I'd be getting this.
