Negative. We will get the ST turbo hatch (as pictured) in North America next year..

As a VW fan boi, even I think VW really needs to take it up a notch with the GTI (now about that Golf R / Jetta-R coupe)

Shit really???? Damn man that's awesome news.

Well yeah only 200 horsepower is pretty lame these days...

Now I know there's going to be a bunch of people that come in here and say:

"But but but you can get a chip and a something... aftermarket and make way more power"

Guess what? The majority of people who buy these cars aren't thinking about the aftermarket when they buy them.

indeed
200hp is slow as hell
todays standard is 300hp for starters

Ford's got their bases covered. Fiesta ST and Focus ST for the younger crowd, Mustang 5.0 for the pony car crowd and the for the more grown up crowd, the Taurus SHO.

IMO, the perfect Ford would be the Fusion Hybrid with the 3.6TT Ecoboost motor out of the SHO and AWD. Throw in the MyFord Touch system and you're all set.

Berz out.

I don't think they ever had a Focus ST or RS with AWD.

You know what I just realized.. the 2011 Mustang GT is only $34,899. That gets you 412hp and RWD with a mechanical LSD. If they price this Focus ST anywhere near that, it doesn't seem like a very good buy. On that note, did you guys know you can get a 305hp V6 Mustang for $21,949?

The trade-off is in the practicality of the car.

As much as I like Mustangs, I had a laugh at watching a guy with a GT the other day as he was having trouble getting a medium sized suitcase into his trunk... And I thought to myself, "Damn I'm glad I didn't get one of those when I was looking for a new car"
The back seats in Mustangs are also pretty shitty for anyone other than small women and children.

The interior looks pretty sleek. Exterior wise not too bad. Interested to see what it would look like in real life.
