OEM Ipod interface Bought my wife a 2000 CRV and the deck is starting to die. I was thinking of installing my MY04 S2000 deck and getting an OEM Ipod interface so she can listen to her ipod. I would get her an aftermarket deck, but she doesn't want me to do anything to it. Plus I don't need the hassle of her car getting broken into because she left her faceplate on. Any recommendations of which OEM Aux interface? I read some reviews on Ice>link and PCA. Any other recomendations? I want one that is easy to use and doesn't require a seperate ipod charger. |
Quite often the OEM Ipod interface is more expensive than getting a new deck. Also, they usually only supply you with an input, not a full working display that comes up with artists, playlists and whatnot. Charging is a whole other story. That said, just getting a simple USB deck installed will get you a much better way to control the Ipod, charge it and give you better overall sound quality. When it comes time to sell the car, you can throw the old deck back in with no problem. No animals would be harmed in the installation of the deck. :) |
I know that, but knowing how the wife is, she will probably leave the faceplate on the deck and that may lead to the vehicle being broken into. As for showing the artist and whatnot, that isn't a big deal. She just plays the music from her touch. Even when she had her ipod connected to my car, we never look at the screen. Basically, I am looking for something that is plug and play but is better sound than an FM modulator. |
