Fender pulling (phonebook method) Some of the fitment OG's on the VQ forum are getting a little crazy with it  So for those of you that want the extra clearance and fender rolling alone doesn't cut it, give this a try. here's the vid and this is what it looks like after http://hphotos-snc3.fbcdn.net/hs148...._8319236_n.jpg http://lh3.ggpht.com/_O3V0YUR-7Dc/S6...ZM/s800/10.jpg |
needs a before and after pic |
you can see the fender flares in the after pics, very noticeable but in any case here's a stock 350z rear fender unmolested http://wheeldude.com/gallery2/d/82653-1/IMG_7076.jpg |
hmm sounds interesting, I need arches rolled and fenders pulled because I'm rubbing pretty badly. Fender is eating chunks out of my tire. I wouldn't trust myself doing it, probably just pay a shop the 140 bucks to do both sides. |
^ You should be using a Fender Roller to do the roll+pull first. Phonebook/Newspaper method is only used for that extra bit of clearance Please, for the love of god. Do NOT use this to do your fenders from the get-go. While it works, it's not gonna be even, and you're gonna be pulling sections of metal out further than other sections. If you only need a roll, get a Rubber Mallet, and a Hammer Dolly. This thing http://image.carcraft.com/f/9018851/..._and_dolly.jpg Clean + Tape the exterior. Heat. Dolly over the tape. Love tap evenly. Go slow. make sure it's still warm to the touch. Light taps to start it off. Once it gets going, go a little harder. Great post man. |
