Bell - Defective SIM Cards Just wondering if anyone else on Bell 3G has had a SIM card go bad. My phone just started disconnecting and reconnecting onto the Bell network one day. It does this every 30s or so. Texting is fine but obviously calls drop every time the phone loses the connection, making one's phone useless. When the signal drops, my phone says "SIM Registration Failed". The store guy mentioned that SIM cards ending with serial/batch # 07 (the number that is written "sideways", not the other 4x5 array of numbers) are all bad. The new (not bad) cards all end in 12. The store (Oakridge) had no extra SIMs left, therefore now I am screwed phone-wise for the next few days. Anyone else have any experience with this problem? |
I got one of the first batches of the Bell 3G SIM cards when it first came out and mine also ends with 07. So far there are no problems with my phone/sim card in anyway, so the store guy is wrong cause they are not all bad. I guess you just got one of the unlucky ones in the batch? Or I got one of the lucky ones, whichever way you want to think of it haha. You can always go to other stores and get your sim card replaced. I don't think you are restricted to your original store so I would check the two Bell stores (West Georgia/Robson) since those two stores have pretty good customer service (.from what I have experienced) Good luck! |
^ I got this SIM in December 2009, and it didn't die until this weekend. So don't speak so soon. ;) To be honest I'm glad it's the SIM though. I was freaking out thinking I'd now have to cough up $$$ for a new phone. Thanks for the tips. I'll try one of the DT stores sometime this week. I'm just curious if anyone else on RS has had this problem (yet)? |
