Saw this in the Province news paper

They list no specs, make or model, or a website so i decided to call. Found out it only has 256 MB of ram a 2 gig HD and some processor I have never heard of. On sale you can pick up a Asus net book with way better specs for the same price. This is a terrible deal and I wonder how many people they will scam. They are also selling these in the states.

I kinda feel bad for the people that will fall for this, but at the same time people should look into anything they're buying. Especially if it's something they don't know much about. Can't imagine too many people will fall for it though.

a $5 usb flashdrive with a DIY install into the laptop, hardwired into a usb socket. Then that specific usb outlet is covered with black electrical tape.

profit.

it only says windows powered, but not which one it has. They're probably just squeezing in Windows 2000

to be really really honest, those sell like crazy. not in Canada though, people in Africa and Cuba and 3rd world countries are ALL over that shit.

i used to work in that industry and you would be surprised how much 1 GB hard drives are in such high demand that ain't even funny.

US won't sell to Cuba so what happens, Canada does.... I've seen it happen for the past 4 years and it's still going on.

most likely Windows CE and an ARM processor.

look at the logo. Windows Embedded, that means it's CE level of hardware.

something similar to this, the spec is close too. 2GB/128MB(256MB) memory.

lol..since when does selling over priced item become a scam? (if so you should call the cop on monster cable or apple first)

And I am sure someone would be happy with a $179 laptop that let them go online and do basic typing and stuffs.

Since they don't give any specs and try to clam it sells for $600 in stores. You can buy a Asus Net book for the same price. Just called again and it runs windows CE 6.0. This is the white van scam of the computer world.
