Bumping this thread instead of creating a new one.

Not going on a first date, but there have got to be some good places to go with your girlfriend on a rainy weekend afternoon that would be fun that have not been mentioned.

Everyone mentions Art Gallery, Aquarium, Go-Karts, Castle Fun Park, but seriously, they either are boring, or been done a million times.

Doesn't Vancouver have some hidden gems? Interesting indoor activities aside from sex?

your best bet is to make another thread.

I think aradi should be unbanned to fulfill his promise.

Liquid_o2, how about cooking? It's a fun hands on activity.. pick a recipe you've never tried, make a day of going shopping, cooking, eating + a movie.
You could also head to izumi-ya or something similar and make sushi

Glove 03-23-2011 02:30 PM

the lower mainland is actually quite boring once youv gone to all the activity places already.

Jegz 03-23-2011 02:55 PM

Best place to take a girl when its rainy is a bedroom. Why get wet outside when she can get wet inside :fullofwin:

civic_rice 03-23-2011 03:16 PM

Still waiting for pics........prefer if your not in them though and she is slightly bent over

Good idea. Could go to the Granville Island public market to pick up ingredients, get some wine and cook dinner together.

Man up. Bedroom is your only option.

If you're not averse to live theatre, the Stanley on Granville usually features a matinee performance on the weekends.

If you're into arts and crafts, I have a couple of suggestions. There's a ceramic shop in the City Square mall on Cambie and 12th. You basically pick out something, like a flower pot, and paint it. The shop will put a glaze on it and bake it so the finish is permanent. I did it once with an old employer and it was pretty neat. Another place where you can paint (and drink!) is Raw Canvas in Yaletown.

The Granville Island public market, while quaint, is a little overpriced if you're looking to do the cooking thing. You could easily pick up good quality ingredients (organic, imported, and all that jazz) and fresh high-quality produce from a place like Donald's Market or Bosa Foods.

Take her pottery
http://hideart.com/index_e.html

I brought my girlfriend there last time.. it was pretty cool, small class so the insturctor was really on top of things.. also the owner is pretty down to earth and was cracking jokes which made it a nice envorument.

Check the website, you get different options from creating your own piece, painting, and other more indepth stuff if your really down to learn! (good thing is they allow drop-ins, so if you only wana drop by and try it once! no problem)

(just to add this is a link to some of the restaurants that carry some of their creations)

Bowlings pretty dope :D I hate going in a group cause it takes to long but with just your gf/bf its pretty funy and goes by quickly.. (Either the traditional 9 Pins or you can go 5 Pin)
- I either go to the one on lougheed highway - holdem station (9 pin) or across from crystall mall (5 pin)

bro, she's 16... she doesn't expect anything.
She's probably already wet due to the fact you have a car to drive.

LG's are fine with anything.
I like the BBT/coffee and a trip to the beach (obviously can't be raining + go at night time). Make sure you have a mat to sit on with a blanket and you're good to go. Spanish banks is usually dead. Just you and her. English Bay is busier. Though, if you have a hard time talking to her I wouldn't really suggest this, unless you feel comfortable enjoying the silence which most people can't since it's fairly early and may feel awkward?

jpoon 03-28-2011 07:19 PM

You can try taking her to La Casa Gelato, on Venables! They've got hundreds of flavours!

Here's a map:
