Update on this story that will cheer you guys up!

"For anyone asking for context and somehow hasn't seen hmasing's top comment:

A few days ago there was this story about a couple neighbors bullying a 7 year old girl dying of Huntington's Disease. Her mother had also died of the same disease a few years back. The neighbors posted shoops of the mother in the arms of the grim reaper, pictures of Kathleen's head on a skull and crossbones, among other terrible things. It all started (supposedly) a while back because the neighbors had sent someone in Kathleen's family a text asking if their kids could go over there and use the bouncy house that was setup for a birthday party. Apparently Kathleen's family didn't respond fast enough for their liking. Hence, the "feud" began.

Someone asked if we could do something positive for this little girl and Hans, the submitter of the article, and a toy store owner, took up the gauntlet and organized the donation drive. People donated money for toys for Kathleen (as well as other sick kids) and donated to First Giving in Kathleen's name to further research of her disease.

Having a good deal of success resulted in local companies jumping on board. That pretty much brings us up to now in a nutshell. Read Hans' comment for more details."

"The photo set was taken today when we went to visit her family. What a tremendous group of people - genuine, sweet, loving, and such nice people. We brought a few gifts for the kids, but the BIG EVENT is on Thursday! Kathleen is coming to Ann Arbor (about an hour away from her house) by luxury limo - donated by Perfection Limousine, shopping 'til she drops at our toy store to get anything she wants, no limits. Then we are taking her over to the children's hospital where she will be donating hundreds of toys to sick kids there in her name, and to lunch at Carson's American Bistro (http://theeoburger.com/carsons_web/pages/carsons.html). Turns out Kathleen likes steak and watermelon, so that's what she is going to get.

Fox 2 will be coming along for the trip, and photos will be taken by everyone who can. Any nearby redditors are encourage to be at our store at 9:30 to cheer and applaud and welcome Kathleen and her family. Bring signs of encouragement, posters, banners, throw rose petals, whatever it takes to make her a princess! All in good tase, of course."

Great story.

It pisses me off to no end that a beautiful, innocent little girl is going to die soon of an incurable disease. She's only seven years old....it's not fair. My heart goes out to the father - first his wife dies, and now his child. Goddammit.

can't wait for karma to knock on that bitch's door..

People take their kids way too seriously these days. I'm sure everyone here has been rejected from a birthday party in the neighbourhood at some point in their lives.

Taking things out on some 7-year old just because you have a problem with her GRANDMA is about about as weak as it gets. Even weaker than punching the grandma in the face.

Here's a bit of epilogue to this old thread:

Trenton woman who taunted dying girl ordered to move as part of plea deal in assault case
Published: Tuesday, February 01, 2011, 3:28 PM

Jennifer Petkov, the 33-year-old Trenton resident who gained international infamy last year after she admitted to taunting her dying 7-year-old neighbor, on Tuesday agreed to a plea deal that will require her to move from her home on Detroit Street.

The News Herald reports Petkov pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault and battery in a case involving another neighbor, Tana Boling, who she allegedly tried to run over with her car.

Feb. 1, News Herald: Wayne County Circuit Judge Carole Youngblood sentenced Petkov to 18 months probation with the following conditions: psychological evaluation with treatment, if recommended; substance abuse evaluation with treatment, if recommended; anger management; no contact with Bowling or the five block area of Detroit Street, Washington, Cleveland, Park Place or Roerig.

Also, Petkov must move out of her house in the 100 block of Detroit Street.

If Petkov violates any of the conditions of her probation, she will serve 93 days in the Wayne County Jail under the plea agreement.

Petkov found herself an unlikely internet sensation last year when she admitted on camera to taunting Kathleen Edward, a 7-year-old suffering from Huntington's Disease. The video went viral, leading to an outpouring of support for Kathleen and unwanted pizza deliveries for her bully.

Separately, Petkov was arraigned last month for violating a personal protection order against Kathleen's grandmother, Rebecca Rose, who previously suggested "the only way this is going to get resolved is for one of us to move."

Looks like she'll get her wish as the so-called "Devil on Detroit Street" packs up for a move.

what ever happened to the kid?

You know, by now you'd think people would get it..

It doesn't matter whether you believe in something or not...you have to admit that something always makes sure that assholes get karma'd so bad.

I knew of a family who used to taunt disabled people...
then they them selves had a disabled child and later on were disabled in a car accident.

Troll'd indeed.
