911fanatic vs 08 Civic

Haven't seen this client in awhile. Car was in very good condition as the owner likes her stuff kept up so we were just doing a winter detail today. Basically a thorough wash and vac with two coats of protection

For more info on products used, click on the highlighted product names.

Engine, jambs and trim were cleaned with RG Brush Set and Optimum Power Clean(3:1) Engine was dressed with AG Vinyl and Rubber Care.
Car was washed with 1Z Pearls and RG Washmitt as it was clearly evident there was NO lsp whatsoever on the paint.
Inner fenders and tires were cleaned with Optimum Power Clean(2:1) while wheels were done with Sonax and AG CWC
Paint was cleaned with Werkstat Prime on Green Buff and Shine pad via PC at speed 3
LSP today was Rejex. Hadn't tried it before but was impressed with the finish it left. Really made the flake pop.
Wheels were sealed with Blackfire All Metal Sealant and tires were dressed with Poorboys Bold n'Bright
Interior was cleaned with AG Interior Shampoo and all glass got AG Fast Glass

Total time - 5 hours

The Civic as it arrived

The barrels were a wee bit dirty but because its a Civic and not a BMW, it wasn't a big issue.

Jambs weren't too bad either
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/l...c/DSC_0004.jpg

Fuel filler area was dirtiest part of the car I think....

With the motor a close second.

After one attempt with a citrus cleaner, a little staining remained

I got out the Sonax and it cleaned right up
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/l...c/DSC_0011.jpg

The Sonax was unable to remove the little bit of staining behind the spoke.

As well as a couple stains on the wheel face

The wheels on the drivers side were done with AG CWC.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/l...c/DSC_0015.jpg

As with the Sonax, a little bit of staining was left behind the spokes..

As well as the odd stain on the face.

Paint was in very good shape for a two year old car as there was only VERY light swirling present
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/l...c/DSC_0018.jpg

Paint wasn't as bright as I would like so I went over it with Werkstat Prime to clean it up before applying the sealant. A lot of dirt came off on the pad.

Claying would be extra. The point of this package is to load up on protection for the winter months. I only clay my own car once a year, typically in the spring. If the car is really bad, I may suggest it, but it'll add about $40 to the price.

Paintwork correction can get very pricey to do it right. A car that size will cost around $325 for a single stage polish. That will include washing, clay, polish and a coat of sealant and will take around 8 hours and will usually result in around 80 - 85% correction. There is no interior work included in this package. I am going to be putting all of our detailing packages on sale in the next week. Stay tuned. :)

I've tried Cockpit premium too. It does its job cleaning, but it smells horrible if you try to breathe it in too deep. Once applied it is okay but I don't get that "pleasant citrus scent" at all, not sure if I got a bad batch. Fortunately it's gone in a few days. It does leave a nice matte finish but I usually follow up with optimum protectant. Would the alcohol in it have any problems? It is my go to for light cleaning since it does not need a water wipe down which all my other interior cleaners need.

Also Ken, do you carry optimum protectant? It doesn't seem to be listed on your page.

I agree about the smell. Very strong alcohol smell. And you are right, its for VERY light cleaning. Sonax dashboard cleaner is a very similar product which we do carry and it smells way better. If you want an actual interior cleaner that doesn't require a rinse, try the Autoglym Interior Shampoo. Its what I use in my shop daily. Has the ability to clean pretty much anything on the interior, very light smell and doesn't need to be rinsed. I don't carry the Optimum Protectant yet but funny, I was just looking at it yesterday. May get some in on my next order.
