icbc rates question Soo rates are coming down next month I have to renew now; is the new rate supposed to be calculated into my 1 year renewal? I asked the receptionist at the insurance kiosk at london drugs and she said "no" but she had major attitude so i doubt her sincerity hence my questioning here ;) i was only going to buy a month/3month pass and she tells me that the "penalty" ends up being more than the deduction i'd end up getting anyhow |
renew for 3 months now, then 1 year when your 3 months is up to get the discount rate. ppl that renew now are sol |
Honest opinion it's not worth short term unless you absolutely have bad discount or your insurance is very expensive. Icbc says there will be 3% off basic insurance and approximately another 3% off the optional. 1 short term (ie 3 months-the short term surcharge premium and short term surcharge license fees.) ususally is about ~$60-100 extra. The exrtra fees cost more than the savings. Posted via RS Mobile |
ah ok thanks guys i thought she was just being an unhelpful bitch guess i pegged her wrong |
Last time the rates went down I got a cheque in the mail for the difference at the end of the year. |
1. the "Bitch" was referring to the "Short term Surcharge" which can ad up to and over $60~100 like Edison says. Just call in 604-661-2800 after Nov and ask them to adjust the rate. They will most likely mail you a check. 2. London Drugs. She probably cheated on her exam to get out of isle 6... |

1. To add to that, if you do a midterm change to your policy, ICBC charges a fee to update any discount. Thus, if the update is less than $30, ICBC doesn't do it. |
