I find Korean stainless steel chopsticks quite the challenge to use. And I am someone who was raised using wooden chopsticks. Hey culture vulture, is that jaing bao? I cant seem to recognize what movie that is from. |

bring your own chopsticks. cleanliness of utensils is usually not a high priority at most inexpensive chinese restaurants. a few people i know always bring their own and i have done this on a few occasions. as for the disposable wooden chopsticks that comes with take outs, i would advise against using those. the wood is bleached but not disinfected. since the material is porous, its hard to say how much of those chemicals are actually still trapped inside it. as for the folks that feel discriminated at restaurants, think about it this way. no matter how well they clean them, would you rather use chopsticks thats been in the mouths of hundreds and thousands of people or forks that are rarely used by only a few people. |

lol i was in toronto last year and i they gave me a fork when i asked for chopsticks the auntie said: "white people with chopstick? thats weiirrdd" |
i know this won't happen to a lot of u but i hate it when im in a chinese food court & i order my food with my drink i would ask for some hot water as well (helps with my digestion if i get super stuffy during or at the end) they fucking charge me 50 cents for bloody hot water in a damn cup when all u do is just boil the water from the tap |
most places charge you for the cup as a kid going to chinese restaurants they'd always give me chopsticks and id have to wait for my mom or someone to get me a spoon and the servers etc would be like "wtf?" |
