Sharp LE810, LE820 or Samsung C6300

Basically looking in to a 40 inch LED lcd tv that will also double as my gaming monitor. Im torn and cant decide which one to get. I was looking in to the Sharps and they have two models. LE810 or the LE820 with the higher contrast ratio (5000000:1) and smooth glass screen. But its a couple of hundred more. I was also looking in to the Samsung C6300 I've seen some good reviews but to be honest Im not sure how it holds up against the Sharps.

I've tried to search for some comparisons but I cant seem to find any. Thanks!

i got the 40" 820... two reasons, the price vision got me was 100 bucks diff between 810/820.... and i have a 2yr old who likes to touch everything in her sight so the glass was profect to keep her tiny fingers off the lcd. very happy with my purchase.

thanks for the input. Did you get extended warranty for your tv?

Domani 10-18-2010 06:04 PM

never...... :)

C6300

Althought the one I looked at was 55C6300.. IMAO best LED/LCD tv, in recent memory...

extended warranty... depends on store
read find prints, no futureshop/bestbuy
I used to work at TV retail/repair store, from what I've seen, i'm scare to buy TV without extended warranty
seen too many 1-2 years old TV with lines, blown power etc...

^ hmm thanks for the input.

Im just worried about lines. I guess the warranty for Vision sounds appealing as they give you the money back in store credit if you dont use the warranty.

Right now im leaning towards the LE820 party because I can just connect it to the internet and I can get them to calibrate the TV to my liking.

Read the fine print for vision warranty. Basiclly if the warranty is 400 you have to spend at least 800 to use it.

If you got to bb/ fs the 4 year warranty can be "bargain" to the 2 year price with out much problem. Tip is to not be interested in the warranty. And when they push you some more on it ( both bb and fs will ) then seem slightly interested. That way will get you the best price. Also try to price match, between visions, mem express, ncix. One more tip, if you go at the end of the month, since they have quotas to meet they will do bigger discount just to get you the deal. It's even better at then end of the year (fy11 end is in feb/march 2012)

Working at bb for 4 yrs I can say yes it's worth it on some things laptops, tv only when you get a discount paying for the full thing just seems useless.

^ yah when I worked at Best Buy a lot of people complained about that. And when you have that gift card a lot of people didn't discount

FeistyBearH22a 10-21-2010 03:18 PM

Can you connect me with someone who can provide unbiased opinion on these tvs? I dont care if I have to buy it from bestbuy. =D

!Aznboi128 10-21-2010 03:37 PM

When I left Best Buy as I was the HT supervisor all my people left as well. So sadly I do know a lot of them but they're doing different work now. That store is now shit (metro BB)

If you want unbiased.... that's hard to find. Everyone is biased. I love Samsung BUT I always recommend either LG or toshiba just cause of their price. Toshiba led technology is from LG, so buying either would be the same. Sharp makes some real nice TVs, very good colours and sharpness.

However when your in the store, don't look at the brightest tv there. A lot of people say the brightest one is the best however it's not. Look for one that has the best Depth (deep blacks) and range (high contrast)

If they're not busy ask them for a remote, reset the colours and put it on "normal" mode that way you can evenly compare.

how much is le820? i can't find LE820 on FS/BB website

FeistyBearH22a 10-24-2010 04:57 PM

Yeah local stores that i've found are visions and the brick(its really expensive at the brick for some reason)

I've found a couple of reviews on these tvs.
