Moscrop and Willingdon, what's with the flashing bright lights?

At night, there are 2 poles that flash super bright white lights at the corner of the intersection.
So what's with that?

I noticed it too when driving by today. At first i thought it was a red light camera flashing.. but I didn't see one at that intersection.

Have you guys seen the ones on Lougheed and Production just by the Production Way skytrain station?

They change color not because it's programmed to do so, but rather by how far you are when you see it. Pretty trippy.

It is the red light cameras. They're malfunctioning.

please explain how they change colours on me while i'm stopped at the light then?

Yeah, they cycle all night long... there are LED's that light up and change colours. I checked them out up close when they were being installed... pretty neat looking inside.

You wanna explain the science behind how light poles can change colour from a distance? I'd be interested in knowing how that works.

LMFAO, what a dumbass...

this is what happens when I assume haha. Guess it was really coincidental that they stopped changing colors when i stopped at the light but the second i started moving again they kept cycling colors. my bad.

Sounds like their new red light camera is malfunctioning!
