Good for using/testing car things at home...and you can't beat the price. Been looking for one of these for a while. Something similar at Crappy Tire would be $40 plus i bet

Looks pretty tiny. I don't think you could run anything over 3 amps on something like that which is fine for cel phone chargers etc...

Still, damn cheap!

thats the thing. back in the day, i had one of these, but one with the cig adapter. it was only a 50W which was fine for a cell phone charger, or a really old laptop. try using it on a newer laptop that required more Wattage and it failed.

now i keep one in the trunk that is at least 300W. that should be able to power most laptops and small electronics.

so moral of the story, if its cheap, chances are, its a low wattage one. and as OD has said, u should get one with higher amperage, JUST IN CASE u need to power something a bit more powerful (excluding a microwave)

This is an AC to DC power converter, not DC to AC. Its for powering car accesories at home, not the other way around. i found it interesting, prob good for testing car audio equipment via the AC plug in your wall. Although XS cargo also has a DC to AC converter for powering small home electronics in your car as well. I used one for my Xbox for my Alpine screen back in the day :)

In that case, I doubt it would even power up a deck. :)

It will power up a deck, just won't allow you to raise the volume.

I think this is mainly used for small electronics. LED bulbs or whatnot.

My home test bench, back in the day, I just used an old car battery, and kept a trickle charger on it :)

a 12v 5amp power supply... not bad for $4.

Perfect_ESL 10-23-2010 02:25 AM

if i have like 20 or 30 of that, can i power a deck, or even a system

Nope. You'll just have a 240V-360V 5A source. Power supplies don't like being hooked up in parallel either.
