anywhere local? |
where do you live?my gf's old HP DV9000 (forgot exact model) doesn't work anymore (known issue) but the lcd works iirc |
live on como lake & North rd in burnaby |
If you need to order eBay is your best bet. |
There's a place in North Van that sells a bunch of different screens for different laptops. They sell on eBay. I'll see if I can find them on eBay and report back. Edit: Try here: http://www.laptopscreen.com/English/ Apparently those guys are affiliated with this site: http://www.vancouverlaptops.com/?section=address which have locations all over Vancouver |
i would rather recommend some online stores rather than ebay.. For warranty purposes. They are mostly located in Ontario and shipped to BC.. I use notebooksolutions.ca but they only have toshiba and acer part.. Just google it and you are good. |
well i know i need the LP171WP4(TL)(B5) screen...ill try vancouver laptops and see if they can get one in for me...or ill just order it myself if its cheaper |
order it yourself back east not hassle. |
^ i thought u guys sell computers/laptops you guys dont do repair/? |
Selling computers and laptops is different from selling parts. 2 Diff markets. There isnt a large market in notebook parts which is why the retailers are limited. Plus pretty much anything you replace in a notebook will be $100+ unless you luck out. After times its not worth it since technology upgrades every year. |
^ i guess, good point how much would a lcd screen replacement usually be? $400-500? half a laptop? whats the most reliable laptop? i know sonys are crap, HP not that great acer i had one for 3 years and no problem asus? toshiba? dell? |
I would go Asus & Dell (personal pref) then acer, HP(business notebooks), toshiba.. As per notebook screens.. They are like roughly $100+ depending on unit but usually where it gets $$$ is if you dont know what your doing then you gotta pay for labor. which is usually 1-2hrs @ ~$50/hr |
my screen varies from 120-140 |
