http://www.powerhouse-fitness.co.uk/...ing-straps.jpg

yamahar6 10-18-2010 12:54 PM

you will probably get better response in the fitness section

Theres an "Official" thread to inquire where to purchase items locally already.

http://www.revscene.net/forums/offic...y-t627664.html

But... have you tried GNC? If they don't have it ask the guys working there, they for sure should know.

Or you can try posting in the Workout/Training thread to get more traction.

why do you need leather straps? Why do you need straps at all? your grip will get stronger if you dont use straps, if you're using them for deadlifts just alternate your grip, one hand facing out and one hand facing in.

the alternate grip doesn't help my fingers still slip... i'm at 2 and half plate now but my fingers haven't gotten strong enough to support it... my back has... but i don't see a need to lower all my weights just to work my fingers... straps helps

leather just because they're a lot easier on the skin...

Seriously, I would consider forgetting the straps and doing farmers walks to strengthen your grip. I would understand at +350 pounds, but you should be able to lift 275 without them. And if you start using straps, your grip isnt going to get any stronger.

Work on your weaknesses to get stronger overall. Just my two cents.

If you still want them. Ebay them. Probably the cheapest way to get them.

XFuel?

try using gym chalk - available at most gnc stores for about 3 bucks a block - i know alot of guys that once they have used chalk, prefer it over lifting straps. a friend of mine uses chalk and deadlifts over 600 at a bodyweight of 148!

Orion 10-19-2010 08:38 AM

thanks for the tips guys...

@jsilver, its site keeps crashing on me.. are they local

@xzman, thats pretty crazy at 600, my workout partner is 230 deadlifting close to 500. hes using chalk and straps... i actually use chalk too and it definitly helps but by the last few reps it just doesn't hold anymore

btw i'm 175 and mainly muscle mass (11% body fat)... your friend has an insane lower back... props

work on your weakest link, which is your grip. use a double overhand grip instead of over-under grip. plate pinches. farmers walks with fat grips, etc.

if you start using straps for your deadlift, your grip will never improve which will hurt your progress in other exercises.

ws6ta 10-19-2010 10:15 AM

get some versa gripps instead

LOL! Looks like it.

Orion 10-20-2010 02:19 PM

wow.. i don't think the nose bleed is healthy at all

i can actually do my 1 rep max without grip

but my 8 rep 275 is just weak... i guess i'll strengthen up that grip with the pinch method
