Google Redirect Virus
Well... This is new.. For some reason my google searches had been getting redirected again.. I have my computer locked down pretty well so I couldnt figure out how I got it.. Did a bunch of virus scans and came back with nothing.. I live in a house where like 4 other computers are sharing the same internet connection. For some reason I decided to check some settings on the router and sure enough the dns had been changed on the router...
This is the first time I've ever heard of a virus attacking the router. Since the landlord still had the default password on the router I told him what was up (he was getting pissed off too... I have a feeling his computer actually has the virus though since its doing some crazy shit that mine wasnt)..
Password is changed now and while I was at it I decided to set the default dns to the google one.
So the moral of this story is dont leave your admin password on your router as the default. These virus programmers are getting smart enough to know that you can remove a virus off a computer but most people wont think of checking the router..
