DVD Drive weirdly making my computer lag... Okay, I'm having a very odd problem. I have two hard drives on my computer and a dvd-drive. When I remove the DVD drive from my computer, Vista boots normally. However, if I add it back in, Windows boots up EXTREMELY slow. It happened a while after the installation of the second drive. However, even if I remove the second HD now, leaving only the first HD and the DVD-drive, it STILL lags on bootup. My boot priority is set to hard drive first, then CD-DVD drive. There's no CD in the drive, either. The CD-DVD drive itself isn't broken, I have tested it with new CD-DVD drives and my computer still lags on bootup. 1st drive is named C: CD-DVD drive is named D: (since it came second) 2nd hard drive is named E: (since it was most recently installed). Thanks. |
just set boot to hard drive no second boot |
it is a SATA optical drive? try plugging it into a different SATA port, this might be a mobo problem. are there any updates for your BIOS? |
