car alarm to existing alarm?
 

I have a 2004 Acura EL, it has an factor alarm and keyless with remote. It doesn't alarm when someone knocks the car or even break a window. Are there addons to the existing alarm that have knock sensors and window breakage? I also want to use the oem remote

We used to do an Omega add-on alarm which was total, utter junk. I find that doing a complete aftermarket alarm will give you much better protection, better access to options and a lot of choices for sensors, paging options and a lifetime warranty. Compustar alarms for instance, are proven to work extremely well, are easy to operate and understand and have the best warranty in the business.

If you still want an alarm 'add-on' then expect to be less than impressed.

I would have to agree with orgasm donor that a complete aftermarket system will give a lot more options for you to consider. That being said, an 'add-on' alarm will give you more security than your factory system...but it is limited.

As for the systems we've been using, reliability has not been an issue, but understanding the system's limitations is key.

But I bet you're even less of a fan of having your car broken into, or worse, stolen.

Why risk it just because you don't like aftermarket remote fobs? Have you seen the newer model Compustar remotes? They're nice, not too big, and the lcd display is ballin'. But if you don't like it, the back-up remote fob that the system comes with looks VERY similar to your Acura remote (my back up remote for my compustar is almost identical in size/shape as my old Acura one). So you could always just use that... maybe Orgasm_Donor can confirm this though, as my alarm is a couple years old now.

An aftermarket alarm is a MUST if you're putting any kind of mods into your car. It's just a fact of life living in the lower mainland, theives work everywhere around here :(

Also, factory remotes can cost anywhere from about $100-$600 to replace depending on the car. Compustar remotes start at $40 to replace.

We have an autopage piece that will integrate into the factory alarm. Essentially it adds a shock sensor + led + siren (if you want it). You can also add auxillary features if you need also.
