adding a US Address to a Canadian Credit Card

I did a brief search and couldn't find much.. I was wondering if people have had any experience in putting an american shipping address onto their CDN credit cards.

I recently signed up for a shipping redirection service, but then the site I want to purchase from requires that my visa match the american shipping address I provided. I know some people on this forum use shipping redirection services and was wondering if you could provide any help in this matter. Thanks in advance.

i just called up my CC company and told them i wanted to add a second address to my account. You shouldn't have any problems doing that.

I had to do it when i was trying to order stuff from tirerack.com

yup, you need to add a second address i believe. I had to do it for my CC when I shipped stuff to point roberts.

LOL ^ are you buying firecrackers?

Whoa, I didn't know I could do that.
Some places in the states don't like canadian cards with canadian addresses.

Side question:
If I wanted a card with US funds, should I just get a US bank account with my current bank and a card for it? Or do you guys have a better suggestion?

thanks!

I have a BMO US Dollar MasterCard ($25 annually, free if you spend over 1k in a year span) and uses the letter carrier in Points Roberts as the billing address. This way any order from website that only ships to the states will match the Point Roberts address.

You can add a shipping address, but many US sites will only take a US billing address which becomes a problem when you try to do any type of online ordering.

You could always try what bayee is doing but if you don't have an actual private mailbox with TLC or any of those shipping places, you might not get any mail that gets sent to you since most of those places will only receive packages and not mail without having an actual private mailbox with them.

I personally have a US credit card with Wells Fargo and a private mailbox with Security Mail Services. It works great for me. Very convenient (although not necessarily the cheapest option)

Yup, that's what I use and that's exactly what I did.

Last week, I had problems paying for my LA Lakers game tickets because they needed a USA address. I called up BMO and asked them to put TSB Shipping as my temporary address until the end of November.

Transaction went through, I got my tickets :D
