Cillu 10-31-2010 10:55 PM

It was at the Spring meet if I recall. It looked great when I saw it.

donjalapeno 11-01-2010 04:36 PM

^ its like buying a donkey and expecting it to perform like a horse

and clearly it doesn't always go in the right place =)

(not hating just my opinion, I just don't see any real point to spend lots of money on a go-kart)

MindBomber 11-01-2010 07:38 PM

I have a friend with a Smart, and I must say its pretty fun to drive.

I'm not feelin the orange paint though...

rJZx 11-01-2010 07:42 PM

/\ driving small cars tend to be more fun driving.

how about the spoilers, wider rims/tires, bolt-on fender flares and all the aggressive looks? those are not the "performance" elements of a car? please...

next time buy something other than a 3 cylinder if you want your car to look or perform "serious".

Actually, the owner has many "sick" cars. This is one of his toys. To each their own.

They aren't performance mods when all you do is hard-park your car all day long.

They just bought it for show. Like those hondas and their GT wings

Right.

So your argument with twitchy about whether the owner bought it as a performance car is moot. He didn't add those components to make it faster, he just wanted it to look different.

0-100 doesn't matter for the owner, so who cares?

Your sarcasm here suggests that you think the owner bought the spoiler and shit for performance, when obviously he did not.

threezero 11-03-2010 02:53 AM

I like it. It's always nice to see niche cars done up nicely.

Whether something is pointless is so subjective. My dad will school rsers all day on how pointless performance mods are on ANY car but he also have nothing but praises for the cheapo massage seat add-on on his 70g merc ==

At least this smart is done up nicely. Who cares if it's slow. That wasn't the point of getting a smart car to begin with.

i was basically backing up 1exotic's post about this thing being a huge waste of money by mentioning 0-100 after his post. considering the fact that lots of money has been dumped into this thing, it still should be slow as balls. then twitchy chimes in with his sarcastic post implying it is "not" a performance car. my answer to him was basically "well, no shit bro"...

hk20000 11-04-2010 01:03 AM

I know the car is no performance car but realistically a electronically limited top speed of 120 is not really acceptable for a car of that price amirite?

Or is it faster for the new gen? The 120 top speed limiter was downright dangerous on 91 during rush hour when everyone does "your top speed + 10"

boostfever 11-04-2010 02:05 PM

I've driven the both generations and neither had speed limiters at 120. what year was the car?
