the only way to get your question answered is to get a ticket, dispute it , and take it up with the judicial system. alternatively, you can go to your local pd and hunt for an answer. if you do not find one, alert the press and start a petition requesting a referendum on the law.

not if you have it mounted on the dash, and you program it before you start driving and only rely on turn-by-turn directions. you can do that with a dedicated gps unit, or a smart phone with a gps function.

Let's say a call comes in while you are following the directions given by the navigation app. The phone's screen changes to alert you to the call but you decide to ignore the call. The phone's screen then remains on the "missed call" screen. Touching the device to switch back to the navigation screen would be illegal.

So, don't touch it - you're not going to get lost THAT quickly. Or pull off the road and then touch it. Or get a better app/phone that will switch back automatically. Or get a dedicated GPS unit instead of using your phone. Or any of a half-dozen other options that anyone with an IQ over 50 could think of.

I'd say if you're spending all your time on the road trying to figure out all the different ways a cop could screw you while you're religiously following the letter of law, you're probably not paying as much attention to the road as you should be... and while it may not make you a "bad" driver, it probably makes you a "dangerous" driver.

I'd argue that it makes me a more observant and careful driver since I am playing out all the scenarios in my head.

Anyway, if you want to criticize my driving I've been teaching a younger friend how to pass his class 7 road test. He has received no instruction from anyone else and he emerged from the test with two minor errors on the sheet and I received compliments from the examiner.

Unfortunately you have simply run out of tactful arguments and have resorted to personal attacks.
