Best shops for suspension repair?

Hi,

Recently, I've been noticing very poor ride quality. There is very little dampening, and my ass hurts every time I go over speed bumps or potholes.

I'm riding on stock suspension on 03 RSX base, and have about ~70,000km on them.

What shops do you guys recommend for suspension repairs?
Or do you think I need new ones?

There's not much you can do about poor ride quality. It's most likely that your shocks have worn out and you will need new ones. Do you have lowering springs?

where can I buy OEM suspension set for RSX other than Acura dealerships?
I guess I could go with coilovers, but I'm looking for ride comfort more than handling.

If you're going to go OEM again, your money is better spent on aftermarket shocks like Koni, Tokico, etc. You'll spend less money and have a nicer ride.

best bet is tokico blue

they're like oem replacement and better pricing

i see i see...
the problem with koni is that it has to be modified to fit my RSX...
where can i buy these Tokico blue in lower mainland?

Bonka 11-02-2010 10:44 PM

Tokico Blue aren't OEM replacement they're a lot stiffer than stock, but they work great if you want something with a better performance and you're willing to sacrifice a comfortable ride. Kyb Gr-2 are a direct OEM replacement.

there is a problem with tokico blue as well....no one is warehousing them

Problem as in manufacturing defect?!?! I installed my blues in September, please don't tell me there fucked up.

Overseas Auto1 11-07-2010 02:44 PM

no. Warehouses are not stocking the product. the reason is that tokico is not coming out with new fittings, and are getting rid of the old part numbers.

You probably bought yours on ebay?

MindBomber 11-07-2010 04:33 PM

Yeah, the lowest price I could find was on ebay.

Overseas Auto1 11-08-2010 08:14 AM

because of that, there is no support from warehouses.

pumpkinz 11-28-2010 02:27 PM

what about KYB shocks?
are these available through RS sponsors?
what's the pricing on these?

Overseas Auto1 11-29-2010 08:42 AM

we have them available. and you have a pm

Gearheads EK9 11-30-2010 10:04 PM

We can also provide KYB if you need.
