what to do if my Credit Card got stolen so i opened up a chevron CC last year and i got it in the mail and decided not to activate it so i cut it up and threw it out... now in the mail today i see a bill for almost 1000 dollars at stores including "LAPOINNTE AUTO SE LANGLEY BC" and "PDQ MARKETING IN SURREY BC" i called chevron and they are telling me im shit out of luck... anyone have any idea how i can get this investigated? i have never heard of those two places and most of those transaction were 125 dollars even. please only post if you are willing to help. |
how is the bill $1000, when the bills were $125 x 2 = $250? Is it because of the interest? That's terrible that Chevron would sell you out like that... |
Call the CC company. They should reverse the charges. EDIT: nm.. didn't realize it was a chevron cc. It's so easy to remove illegitimate charges with Visa or MC. |
Call credit card company. Tell them you have nothing to do with the charge. Your credit might have the 'zero liability' features. |
how did your cc bill rack up so much shit if you didnt activate it / cut it up? |
post on RS |
8 charges on the invoice... all done from october 16 to october 18th... 5 charges of 125 dollars 1 charge of 124.69 1 for 98.00 1 for 124.44 total 972.13 i called chevron customer service and now my account is under investigation for up to 90 days and they will mail me a fraud thing i have to fill up.... |
file a police report.. give chevron CC the police file # |
How much time elapsed since you got the card and the bill came? Ask them what date the card was activated and then depending on the answer to my first question bitch them out how charges of $1000 on an inactive cc for x amount of months went through (this argument would be good only if the elapsed time was like a year)... Plus, the fact that u didn't activate your card, it'll be negligent on the cc company's part because no transactions should've been approved on the account in the first place. Posted via RS Mobile |
card was opened on august 2009 and first 8 transaction was made from oct 16-18 2010.... |
If you have to ask the question what to do if your credit card it stolen you don't have enough common sense to have one. |
either you're not telling the full story or you're telling the story wrong last time i checked, deactivated cards can't be billed |
