gars 11-10-2010 12:11 PM

this is what happened to someone on RFD

Nov 10, 2010 7:17 AM In transit OAKLAND, CA

Nov 10, 2010 1:43 AM Clearance delay MISSISSAUGA, ON
Nov 10, 2010 1:43 AM In transit MISSISSAUGA, ON Package to be cleared by FedEx broker
Nov 10, 2010 1:43 AM Clearance in progress MISSISSAUGA, ON
Nov 9, 2010 10:25 PM Left FedEx origin facility UNION CITY, CA
Nov 9, 2010 4:27 PM Picked up UNION CITY, CA
Nov 9, 2010 6:14 PM Shipment information sent to FedEx

but they haven't heard anything about the order getting cancelled...

I would've called the depot and taken the order across customs myself.

SpuGen 11-10-2010 12:23 PM

Fedex guy just dropped it off.
$47.
Now if I could figure out how to take this damn thing out of the box.

Edit:
Got it.
Jam a knife just inbetween the White box and the Black Box. There's 2 spots that have adhesive on it.
Jam knife in. Cut.
Pull out.

I wanted to keep the box. If you don't care, just rip the bitch apart.

SolidPenguin 11-10-2010 05:20 PM

Gonna go pick mine up from TSB tomorrow or friday. Cant wait

NEVER FORGET!

mine's waiting for me at pt roberts.

StylinRed 11-10-2010 09:54 PM

aw just browsing this thread now, i thought it was some spam thread at first

this would be awesome to get its really steady (basing it from the formula race car video)

and yeah it would be insane attaching one to that RC Jet (it'd probably throw off the balancing though?)

gars 11-13-2010 03:12 PM

picked mine up at Pt Roberts this morning. No tax/duty coming back across the border - the guard was nice.

tried it out, it's pretty decent quality, i'm happy with it. Note to self: make sure suction cup is securely mounted before driving... we drove for a few minutes before realizing it had fallen off, luckily, we were just on some side roads having some fun...

SpuGen 11-13-2010 04:03 PM

^
Gotta clean the cup and the surface.
Otherwise it's gonna fall.

Don't touch it with your fingers after cleaning.

gars 11-13-2010 04:05 PM

i might get some alcohol wipes to clean with

SolidPenguin 11-13-2010 06:24 PM

That suction cup is pretty damn strong, how did it come off.

Make sure you press all the air out first with the button then flip up the tab. I couldnt get the thing to budge if i tried, and i didnt clean the surface first.
The suction cup even works on my motorcycle helmet which is pretty cool so i dont have to leave one of those 3M tabs on there

gars 11-13-2010 11:35 PM

we didn't clean the surface off first... i guess that was the problem.

YouTube - jetsinhd's Channel

mind is blown.

must have crazy frequency considering how far it went...
does this guy work for NASA or DoD?

TOPEC 11-14-2010 05:45 PM

so has anyone actually try out their gopros yet?
i did some tests today and found that day light performance is good, but night time performance is very sub par.
editing the vids and will upload them to youtube later.

SolidPenguin 11-14-2010 06:26 PM

Heres a quick test i did with mine right after i picked it up.
Used the suction cup mount, at 1080p. Not too much vibration, sound is good. This is with the open backplate that isnt waterproof. 2:40 video ended up being around 240mb. So close to 1mb per second in 1080p

sleepywheel 11-14-2010 07:44 PM

Now that really makes me want to get onto a bike again....:drool, it's been too long.

Good video, should have cleaned the windshield first though ;)

Anyone have trouble formatting a SD card? Or getting the camera to erase the last video?

There's a software upgrade on GoPro's site that gives you a few more options, like having the camera upside down but filming right side up.

i had mine on my bike during the summer, but the 16gb SD was filling up too quickly.

The Lexar is faster, and I trust Lexar/Sandisk more than Patriot/Kingston. Especially since I've heard not-so-good stuff regarding Patriot LX Signature cards.

sleepywheel 11-14-2010 09:54 PM

What do I know about memory cards, haven't bought one in a couple of years and don't have time to keep up with all the latest advances. Good to hear about other people's experiences. I'll watch for any problems with mine after I pick it up, if it screws up, back it goes for a Lexar.

Gh0stRider 11-16-2010 12:33 AM

I currently have a Transcend 16gb class 6 card.
