XS Cargo - Two way Remote Start/Security System

Has anyone purchased this security system before? Pros and cons about it? Thinking of purchasing but read some reviews regarding the starter over doing it.

Thanks!

You get what you pay for. ;)

If you do decide to purchase it, i can install it for you for W.H.Y.
Or have a professional installation done at sounds good :D.

i used to work @ xs cargo for part time...

they do not take ANY REFUND back! only exchange for the same item... its a really gay policy. If second one is exchanged, you cannot exchanged again... so u're stuck with the defective item. Or you can buy the 2year plan, which let you get a credit, and can be used for something else in the store.

a lot of their gps, mp3, and electronics has been defective. So becareful

We have installed a couple of them. They are absolute garbage! It may or may not work right out of the box and even then, no warranty. JUNK!

We don't install them anymore.

^^ yea xs cargo is REALLY shady.

no to mention their stuff isn't really that cheap. They has a few good deals and most of the other stuff are overprice. You get the idea that everything inside is cheap + gd deal, so you splurge. Than you found out that some of the items are actually cheaper in other more big name brand chain store.

Than you can't refund it.

you just need to pay with a credit card - if they won't refund faulty items, then just reverse it with your credit card. If the vendor sells a faulty item to you, they need to fix it, replace it with a working one, or refund you your money. They can't simply give you store credit. And the credit card company will back you on that.

Though as true as you are about the credit cards, XS Cargo clearly states everything is all sales final. As you enter it says it, as you ask them about it they would probably mention it, as you purchase they will confirm with you too. Receipt also says it. In a way, you've consented to that...

^^ Just like any store though, you complain enough and they will give you a refund. That said, you should never have to work hard for good service.

All the sponsors here work hard to keep their customers happy. Yeah, you may pay a little bit more but in the end you avoid wasting time and the hassle of going back and whining about shitty products. Save time and money and do it right the first time.

Don't cheap out on an alarm. One day if your remote stops working or you lose it what are you going to do?

I'd like to see that - I've been told on more than one occasion by visa that as long as you signed for it, and recieved a product, they can do nothing - they only cover charges that were not authorized by you.

They are not paypal - if you buy on ebay and the item is broken or does not match the description, they will cover it.

orgasm_donor 11-07-2010 11:54 PM

*Some* Visas have extra coverage that will insure against damage in transport or in some cases, a dispute with a product or service where a refund was denied. It is not a simple process however and is a last resort in most circumstances.

I purchased one from them a couple years ago for a winter beater CRX so I could get keyless entry with actuators I had left over from a different car. I think they are still selling the same ones (I think it was called Radiostar or something).

I can say they are pure junk. Remote was finicky (it acted like it was low on battery even though it was brand new) and would not respond right away which is a pain in the ass in the winter.

With the alarm still armed you better have some good ear plugs.

Cman333 11-08-2010 03:00 PM

Yeah I will only install these (along with ebay and crappy tire alarm/starters) for customers if they understand that we are not liable if they don't work or have issues down the road.

You really pay for what you get. I remember putting in a canadian tire starter for someone and he had to run back to crappy tire and exchange it twice before he got a working brain.

As for the ebay/xs cargo stuff, probably even worse. I've seen a ton of them crank the starter and not stop! Poor quality, shitty range, zero reliability. Not something I would even put in a junker car. I would rather pay the same price for a non paging alarm with no hassles.
