Files wont delete off my desktop

long story short

i deleted some picture files off my desktop...they went in my recycle bin and i deleted them.....

but for some reason the images files still remained on my desktop. im able to move them around, but i am unable to relocate them or delete them(it says 'unable to locate file')

so the image of the file is there.....but techinically it doesnt exist...has this happened to anyone before?

Yeah that shit has happened to me before.

The first time it happened, it fucking stayed there on the desktop and there was absolutely no way for me to remove it. I tried every damn trick in the book and it wouldn't budge.

I reformatted.

The second time it happened I refreshed my desktop by pressing F5 and they disappeared. It happens every now and then but when I notice it not deleting (even though I know it has) I refresh the desktop.

Good luck if you can find a fix for it.

Windows simply thinks that the file is there when it isn't. Were you doing something while deleting the files?
