I wouldn't call it a blowup. More bad timing than anything else. With few players, odds are he had the best hand or at the least, one card over a pocket pair. He also should've had the discipline to just call the 5 bet and make a decision post flop.

I agree with quasi for sure though. Compared to last year, the quality of play was waaaay better. Saout would've been the monster stack with the most experience if Cada wasn't such a luck-sack.

I understand what you're saying and partially agree. Like i said, he should've called the 5 bet and felt it out, post flop. Due to editing, we don't know what the dynamics of the table was like to that point. They said Duhamel was playing tight all night so maybe that's why Cheong went for it - risking 3rd for a closer shot at 1st.

One thing's for sure, Racener's lucky the leaders were willing to gamble with each other and not wait to get rid of the short stack first. It was either going to be monster vs. monster or monster vs. mouse - he's lucky it was the latter.

Calling the 5bet would of been the same. IMO, You have to shove or fold there. What's the point of seeing the flop. There would have been 50mil in the pot and you have to shove on the flop anyways. You don't want to go to a flop with A7 in a monster pot. Even if he hit the A, he could have been up against a bigger A. Duhamel would have to have a big pair to 6bet all in and risk his tournament life. And I don't understand the call...
There is not much to feel out when the pot is that big.

This year ME FT was so anti-climactic, it wasn't even funny. The card dead players got chipped down til they were forced to make a move, players that were catching cards progressed and the better player won, HU. Hardly any action. If the runner up played more aggressive, he would've given himself a better shot but he was basically just playing cards.
