Casino Robberies suspects arrested

So im not sure if you guys remember but i think it was last year or months ago it was reported that there were robbers pretending to be police who robbed Casino Patrons

and well now there were more robberies and the suspects got arrested

Three Burnaby men face multiple charges after allegedly trailing casino patrons home to rob them using what turned out to be replica guns.

On Monday Vancouver police identified the three suspects as 20-year-old Daniel Sheng Long Hoong, his 18-year-old brother William Wei Lun Hoong, and Yan Wang, 30.

Wang is known to police.

All three face a long list of charges that include robbery with a firearm and firearms-related offences.

Even though the firearms were replicas, the charges still stand, according to Vancouver police spokesman Lindsey Houghton, because of the way they were used.

“Those using it [the replica] have to be using it as a weapon,” said Houghton, who also explained the victims have to “believe it to be a real firearm.”

The suspects were apprehended after two Vancouver residents were robbed by two men at about 1:30 a.m. Nov. 2 after returning home from the River Rock Casino in Richmond.

There was forensic evidence at the scene, said Inspector Les Yeo.

But Yeo would not reveal the evidence because it is part of the ongoing investigation.

Surveillance began November 3 at the River Rock and it became clear the suspects had targeted another victim.

Yeo said the police then decided to apprehend the suspects using the tactical takedown squad.

“We received great co-operation from the casino,” said Yeo of the investigation.

While Yeo said such crimes are “rare,” police are investigating possible links to similar crimes at other casinos.
