Just fill his exhaust with gap filler, while no-one is watching of course. Problem solved. Consider it doing a favour by saving the police and court time. |
Call the Police non-emergency number and ask to speak to the Traffic section. Give them the plate number, vehicle description and owner's address and description. Tell them what you told us. Prepare popcorn and a good window seat. |
Be prepared to wait 6-48 hours... Posted via RS Mobile |
Ironic I just watched this before coming here.... |
Where can you get your exhaust tested for db ratings? I've been really curious how loud mine is. |

So I gotta ask. How come Harleys and other hogs are out there riding around? I haven't once see one get ticketed. Especially since a speeding bike is generally a lot louder than a speeding car? |
Cops prefer giving VIs for the loud exhausts...that way they can't just dispute the VT and continue riding with it that way. They need to pass an inspection within 30 days at the most.BTW...I know of 40 loud exhaust Harleys that have been VI'd over here on Fantasy Island. |

Alternatively you can buy cheap dB readers at The Source, they'll be accurate enough for you to know if you're > 90dB. http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f1...g/IMG_4428.jpg ^ Why don't images display in this form? |

Then I witnessed his forward and backwards thing my wife was talking about. Seems like he's learning how to drive a manual by constantly moving forward a little and then backwards in the parking spot. I only wish he didn't do that in the neighborhood and went somewhere where his loud exhaust wouldn't be annoying to anyone. Well, anyways, hopefully he'll learn soon before my wife goes crazy listening to him or before he wears out his clutch. |
Why motorcycles are allowed to be nearly twice as loud as cars I'll never understand... |
I think it's because of the size of motorcycles compared to cars. The piping in cars is much longer, can fit more cats, resonators, mufflers so by the time the noise comes out it is more muffled. Posted via RS Mobile |

That's because the average motorcycle out there is probably a 600cc+ death machine. It has a ridiculous power the weight ratio, and unfortunately for you, that's the norm for bikes. Many bikes are on the road are ready for the track and that's OEM. It's like if everybody drove a monstrous V12 italian supercar, but they don't. They drive little dinky Matrix, Mazda 3 and Fits and thus, the average car isn't a tuned sports machine that's loud, it's quite quiet. And on that note... I heard that BC is banning 2-stroke bikes??? I think that will quiet things down a bit. |
